Paper Pumpkin Play Date

Hello Friends,

It's been a while since I posted - I was way too busy playing with this month's Paper Pumpkin kit! The July kit is a winner & coordinates beautifully with several suites of products from the Annual catty. These are the cards mads following the instructions.

The kit provides lined envelopes to match & plenty of product to create nine cards. At our Paper Pumpkin class, my P.P. Peeps & I cut apart the card bases, added some Whisper White cardstock & went to town creating alternative designs. The Sailing Home bundle matched the theme perfectly & the stamp set from the kit provided classy images & elegant fonts to step up our creations.

Here are a few of our alternatives.

The medallion stamp from the kit reminded me of the Eastern Palace die set (retired) so I created a wedding card using the dies. The three medallions give a classic look to a "thinking of you" card for a friend.

The sailboat card uses the nautical liner from one of the envelopes provided & makes for a "gender neutral" birthday wish.

Next month's kit brings an air of Fall with leaves & autumn colours. There is an add-on kit available for purchase as well to expand the kit to create many more cards.

Check out the details in my online store by hitting the Shop Now tab. Contact me if you'd like more info on joining my P.P. Peeps - a free club with loads of inspiration for completing your monthly kit.

Thanks for popping in!

Cheers,
Arlene

July Paper Crew Blog Hop - Beautiful Friendship

Ahoy friends and welcome aboard the July Paper Crew Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who have come together online to create cards, scrapbook pages and other papercraft projects. We hope these will inspire you to create projects using Stampin' Up! projects too. This month we are sharing projects using "anything floral" from the current Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue.

Floral images almost always appeal to me but I must say I love a soft, muted, watercolour look. I'm not saying that I don't love a bright, bold field of sunflowers but when I'm creating I love a lighter touch. And, I LOVE hydrangeas. So it was a no-brainer for me to choose a stamp set for this month's Paper Crew Blog Hop—anything floral. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the Beautiful Friendship stamp set ...

The stamp itself creates a shaded image of light & dark giving a realist look to the beautiful hydrangea flowers. The above image uses the new In-Color, Rococo Rose I love to use the die-cut words to add colour contrast and a bit of dimension to my cards. The Well Said stamp set provides words for every occasion.  I used "birthday" & "friend" to finish off my sentiments.

My first image (at the top of the page) uses Highland Heather ink, dabbing Granny Apple Green to the centers with an Aquapainter. The "happy" is die cut using the Merry Christmas dies. A little bit of bling from the Gingham Gala adhesive-backed sequins adds a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you'll hop along to the next blog to check out more of our floral creations. My friend, Mary is next on the blog.

Friend Like You Card

I've always loved silhouette images. Although they are popular as cameo jewelry pieces, I love them on cards! Here I have selected a die set from the new catalogue called Friendly Silhouettes. They coordinate beautifully with the Friend Like You stamp set which has sweet sentiments in lovely, classic fonts.

I went with a soothing monochromatic colour combination of Very Vanilla on a Crumb Cake card base. I die cut the delicate wildflower border from Very Vanilla Thick cardstock from the die set & added creamy white heat embossed images from the matching stamp set. I love the Stitched Rectangle dies & found the stitching on the Crumb Cake mat was just the perfect way to highlight my tableau. A few iridescent sequins add a little touch of bling to my card.
