July Paper Crew Blog Hop - Beautiful Friendship

Ahoy friends and welcome aboard the July Paper Crew Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who have come together online to create cards, scrapbook pages and other papercraft projects. We hope these will inspire you to create projects using Stampin' Up! projects too. This month we are sharing projects using "anything floral" from the current Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue.

Floral images almost always appeal to me but I must say I love a soft, muted, watercolour look. I'm not saying that I don't love a bright, bold field of sunflowers but when I'm creating I love a lighter touch. And, I LOVE hydrangeas. So it was a no-brainer for me to choose a stamp set for this month's Paper Crew Blog Hop—anything floral. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the Beautiful Friendship stamp set ...

The stamp itself creates a shaded image of light & dark giving a realist look to the beautiful hydrangea flowers. The above image uses the new In-Color, Rococo Rose I love to use the die-cut words to add colour contrast and a bit of dimension to my cards. The Well Said stamp set provides words for every occasion.  I used "birthday" & "friend" to finish off my sentiments.

My first image (at the top of the page) uses Highland Heather ink, dabbing Granny Apple Green to the centers with an Aquapainter. The "happy" is die cut using the Merry Christmas dies. A little bit of bling from the Gingham Gala adhesive-backed sequins adds a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you'll hop along to the next blog to check out more of our floral creations. My friend, Mary is next on the blog.

  4. Lovely cards, Arlene. I love hydrangeas too. I love the way all the little flowers grow together to make one big bloom. The way you have coloured them gives them dimention too.
